Economist

Working in the Department for Transport in Bus and Taxi Policy. I provide economic insight and analysis for policy related projects using economic tools such as impact assessments and evaluation as well as other ad hoc data analysis. Current projects include the Low Emission Bus Scheme (LEBS) which aims to increase the amount of Low Emission Buses on roads by providing government funding for various low emission technologies. The overall aim of this scheme is to reducde green house gas (GHG) emissions and improve air quality around the UK. I am also working on reforming the bus services operators grant (BSOG) which provides funding to local authorities and bus operators to lower their operating costs and ensure that fares reamin low and vital services continue to operates. Some of the other projects I am working on relate to rural connectivity and community transport.
